The downspout terminates just a few feet from the new stairwell. I needed to be sure the water did not get into the stairwell, nor on the sidewalk leading to it.
In northern Utah we have hard freezes throughout the winter months, and I needed to ensure that water was not allowed to pool anywhere near the entrance.
The system is vented and passes under the sidewalk to an area downhill from my home. It was clean, easy to install, and will last for decades.
